Happy Darwin Day!- Science and Christianity

Does the picture above depict how you view the relationship between Christianity and Science?

It has become commonplace to pit Christianity against "reason" and science in an effort to discredit the belief in a Creator.

In this brief article, Kenneth Samples provides evidence of the historic alliance between Christianity and Science.

Check it out here.

This was a very informative article. I was not aware that some of the scientists listed were actually Christians. It's always encouraging to hear the evidence as to why we should look to God's Word to verify the creation and science of our universe. Great points to defend the Truth!

Thanks Chad!

Hi Chad,
I'm very gradually sliding more and more into unbelief. I'm trying everything I can think of with no avail. Even wading through a pretty thick book on the resurrection. I'm also slowly going through your objection posts. Thanks for the resource.

Mark,

As always, I appreciate your honesty.

I am assuming you are referring to N.T. Wright's book? I saw yesterday that Habermas has an audio interview on his (Habermas) site with a discussion between former atheist Anthony Flew and Wright. I'm going to try to check that out this weekend; might be worth a listen.

Mark, can you pinpoint the greatest source of your doubt? You may have shared this in a prior post/discussion; however, I'm not sure. Forgive me if you have and I have forgotten.

Finally, a local book outlet here in Hagerstown has the book "Jesus Under Fire" for 4 bucks. I wanted to know if you had gotten that yet. I know you mentioned that you were going to "add it to you list" and I would be happy to pick you up a copy and shoot it to you in the mail. You can't beat that price! Let me know and you can send me your address via email.

Mark, it's always great to hear from you and, as always, you are in my prayers.

Chad,
Yeah I'm getting close to half way in to N.T. Wright's book. Thanks for the heads up on the new Habermas audio.
It's kind of hard to pinpoint the
greatest source of my doubt. Things at the top are does God exist? Did Jesus rise from the dead? Is there a supernatural realm? Maybe the root problem is not believing in the supernatural. It kind of makes the other things hard to believe. However, if I could believe in Jesus resurrection, that would lead to belief in the supernatural and the existence of God. So I guess many things are tied together.
Thanks for the book offer, but currently I am swamped with books on the shelf.

Mark,

Thanks for the reply. Forgive me for taking some time to get back to you.

Let me know what you think of the audio; I'm going to listen to it soon, but you may beat me to it. Of course, I'm sure Brian will have it on his site soon! :-)

I would just like to encourage you to continue your search, even if Wright's book doesn't completely answer all your questions. I admire your diligence with your investigation.

Have you had a chance to email Mike L. yet? Just curious.

I completely understand regarding the book. Sometimes I wonder if I'll be able to finish all mine before leaving this earth! :-)

I hope the "common objections" series does help and thank you for reading it. They are meant to target very specific objections with very specific answers.

God Bless

Mark,

I wanted to clarify something- the conversation between Flew and Wright that Dr. Habermas has on his site is a video, not an audio.

I apologize for the error.
