Sermon: The Quietness of Life by Pastor Dave Vance

It was Dr. Seuss who once wrote, "A person's a person, no matter how small."

In this sermon, Pastor Dave Vance of Faith Christian Fellowship in Williamsport, MD, takes a look at the question, "Why Pro-Life?" with fresh and challenging perspective.

Pastor Dave reminds us that the debate over abortion is not a political matter, it is a God matter.

Since becoming a Christian I can honestly say that I have never heard a message dealing with this topic quite like this one.

I encourage you to listen here.

Thanks for the article on Fetal Personhood by Greg Koukl as well as the link for Pastor Vance's sermon. I find it interesting that Greg Koukl brought up the Dred Scott case in his article. Throughout history, it seems that certain groups of people have committed the greatest of atrocities by attempting to rationalize that the person that they are persecuting is less than a person, or non-human, based on some characteristic such as race, religion, or even level of development. I find it interesting that some pro-abortion advocates make statements that allude that EVERY woman should have a choice regarding their health and well being, yet many of the babies which are aborted are females. They neglect to account for the health and well being of the "woman" who is in the womb.

The encouraging thing that I have found throughout history was that God raised up men and women who stood for truth and defended those who could not defend themselves. People like William Wilberforce, Abraham Lincoln, Corrie Ten Boom, and Detrich Bonhoeffer are examples of those who stood for God's truth that every human life has intrinsic value because all humans are the result of His workmanship (Psalm 139:13-16, Jeremiah 1:5). I am confident that God will continue to raise up those from our generation who will stand for and defend His truths. He already is!
