3 Apologetics Books Worth Mastering

Approximately a year ago I recall saying to a friend of mine, "What if every Christian learned the arguments in these 3 books?  The body of Christ would be a force to be reckoned with!"  He readily agreed.

Below are the three books I had in mind.  I believe that if every believer would take the time to learn and master the arguments, evidences and tactics taught in these 3 books, they would be able to make a very robust case for the Christian faith in a very thoughtful and winsome manner.

1.
This book by Greg Koukl will give you the tools you need to engage unbelievers in conversations immediately.  You don't have to be an expert.  If you master the tactics in this book you will be able to comfortably maneuver in a conversation.  Our review of this book is here.
2.

This book will equip you with arguments for the existence of God and prepare you to answer the most potent objection to the Christian faith- the problem of evil.  Further, you will be able to defend why it is reasonable to believe Jesus is the only way to heaven and answer the common objection, "What happens to those who have never heard of Jesus?"

3.

In this final book you will learn how to defend the trustworthiness of the Gospels and the New Testament as a whole.  Furthermore, Jim Wallace presents the information in a very compelling way- from the perspective of a cold-case homicide detective!  Our review of this book is here.

At my church our apologetics team has done a Sunday School class on each of these books.  You should think about doing the same.  Pastors, teach this stuff from the pulpit.  Youth pastors, do your students know the arguments found in these resources?  How many arguments for God's existence have they learned?  Can they answer the arguments of Bart Ehrman?  Laymen, master the content and then spread the word!  Let's get prepared and obey the Bible's mandate to "...sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;" [1 Peter 3:15].
