Common Objection #12- "Where did Cain Get His Wife?"

To my surprise, my wife recently heard of a student who's college philosophy professor presented the objection "Where did Cain get his wife?" as if it were a huge problem for the Bible believing Christian. Honestly, I thought this objection was resting silently in the dust bin of "lame objections," however, I was clearly mistaken.

At any rate, here is a great article by Dr. Hugh Ross addressing the question entitled Finding a Wife for Cain.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the Ross article on, "Where did Cain get his wife?" It was eye opening concerning the fact at how large the population could have grow before the death of Adam. - Shelby

Hello Shelby,

Great to hear from you! I thought that section of the article was eye-opening as well.

Or maybe the whole story is a myth? Thanks for posting this article by Hugh Ross. I hadn't realized to what extent he is willing to hypothesis (and some truth bending) to fit his view of scripture. My favorite line is, "Archeological evidence indicates that population growth did not take off explosively in the pre-Flood era." I wasn't aware of this.

Hello Mark,

Hope you are well. I did want to highlight the fact that Dr. Ross does believe in a local flood and I also wanted to recommend his book More Than a Theory: Revealing a Testable Model of Creation.

Perhaps it would answer some of your questions?
