The death penalty article is interesting - I find myself compelled to that POV as well. I do understand that God killed bad people in the Bible, but I think that's a weak justification, especially given the pro-ife arguments.
We should also consider that those people who are condemned to the death penalty are souls that can potentially be saved. It seems very Christian to give them every chance to repent, and turn to God - just as Christ gives us that chance every day. Reminds me of some of the Nazi leadership in WW2 that were said to have turned to Christ.
