Christians Should Tell the Truth about Halloween

I have always believed that whether or not followers of Christ choose to observe Halloween is a matter of personal conviction. However, I also believe that because Scripture commands us to speak truthfully to our neighbors (Ephesians 4:25), we have a responsibility not to spread misinformation about Halloween. Unfortunately, every year I see far too many Christians doing precisely that.

In this featured video, Michael Jones of Inspiring Philosophy makes the bold argument that Halloween was originally a Christian holiday. Sound absurd? Contrary to what you've heard? I encourage you to hear him out and draw your own conclusions.

Whether you choose to observe Halloween or not, let's at least make sure that what we say about its history is accurate. Truth should matter to those who claim to follow the One who declared Himself to be the Truth.

Courage and Godspeed,
Chad
